tr.im Watch All episodes on the link above American Idol Season 9, Episode 15: First Results Show: Two Male and Two Female Contestants Eliminated Original Air Date—25 February 2010 Ryan says 24 million votes came in and tells us that Alison Iraheta and Kris Allen will be performing. Kris’ performance will benefit Haiti. Ryan says Simon’s harshness was the “buzz of the nation.” Simon thinks that’s silly and doesn’t feel like he was overly cruel, he was just trying to give advice. Ellen says her first week held some surprises and she understands the nerves of the first timers. Randy gets it too: the millions of viewers, the cameras, the judges. Kara jokes that she and her husband are working out her crush on Casey. Her husband is in the audience. Group Sing: “American Boy,” Estelle. The ladies kick it off and then the boys chime in. Nothing has miraculously changed between seasons, goofy group singing is still cringe-worthy. Ryan begins the elimination process. Siobhan, Haeley, Michelle, Katelyn, and Katie are safe. Janell is the first to be going home. She handles it well and then of course has to sing the song that got her eliminated. Performance: “Scars,” Alison Iraheta. Wow, her hair is really red now and her look is really glammy. It’s a ballad but it’s got nice lift to it and she sounds good. I was hoping she would rock out more. Ryan finishes off the ladies. Paige, Lacey, Lilly, Crystal, and Didi are safe and Ashley is going home and she has to sing the now

Siobhan Magnus House of the Rising Sun Shes dedicating the song to her Dad, who introduced her to music. I dunno peeps. She sang it really well, but she didnt take it anywhere. What style was that? I felt like I was sitting at a school assembly. She doesnt have an artistic identitiy. Randy says, You come out every week you surprise usyou take every riskyou dont listen to us at all keep doing that cause its hot. Ellen says, You are why I love musicI was captivated, you made it current you are spectacular. Kara says, I loved the acapella vibe at the frontyou are so unique and differentI really liked it tonight. Simon says, I wasnt quite a fan of thatit was all a bit weirdbecause you didnt do anything with the songthere was no moment..ploddy, boring and darkdidnt get it.

Michael Lynche: American Idol Top 8 Boys

Michael Lynche idolonfox.com Big Mike gave a stunning vocal on “This Woman’s Work” by Maxwell. Kara being brought to tears was only like 2% Kara being weird and dramatic and needing attention. The other 98% was legit. Michael picked a very difficult song and pulled it off effortlessly. His falsetto and his one big note at the end were particularly stellar. It’s actually a shame that at this point they cram eight performers into an hour because I would’ve liked to hear more of Michael on this song. The snippet we heard wasn’t nearly what he could’ve done with it if he could’ve built it up and really told a story. It’s exciting to think about what he’ll do with the theme nights. …………………………………. …………………………………. All rights reserved American Idol ® FOX.com, 19 TV Ltd & fremantlemedia North America, Inc.
