Big moves happening in the Niche Site Challenge. So far we had a change of heart with the passion niche. After doing some extensive research, we found a better niche to target along with a better keyword rich domain. (you can check out the progress of the Dominoes niche site here)
Once that was done I started my search for my Brand Niche site. As I mentioned in the first NSC post (Let the Games Begin), I wanted to create both a Passion Niche site and a Brand Niche site.
I started with the passion niche first because it was easier, and 2nd, because I was not sure yet on which domain to choose for the brand niche. I was stuck on it, sort of like writers block. For the life of me I could not choose one.
Also one of the domains I wanted was not available. I actually had it on back order as the original owner had let it go, but freaking godaddy has this stupid policy about a 90 day waiting period. Finally it got released and I bought it.
This worked out well for me since I couldn’t choose anyway. It gave me time to think about it. And to help me with the process, I went ahead and asked for help.
That’s where my loyal readers and subscribers came in …I love ya guys ;-)
I created a survey using google docs, (I loved it, I’ll create a tutorial on it soon) with only 3 questions.
- Which domain do you like best?
- Should I retire JoeyKissimmee.com?
- Can you give me some feedback?
Man oh man, the responses and replies I got. Some harsh, lol and some very heart warming. I actually got tear eyed on some of the responses. I had no idea how much this blog meant to a lot of people.
Here’s some of the comments:
This got me to thinking real hard on whether I should retire this blog or not. I mean I literally was going to push the delete button on this. Not because I hated it. It’s not like this blog sucks or has no traffic coming in or isn’t making money. It’s because it would force me to take action and actually start the new brand.
As a matter of fact, this blog is at it’s prime, at it’s peak. As I’m writing this post, The Alexa ranking is sitting on 47,514. Thousands of visitors per month, and very profitable.
So why start a new blog?
I believe in Innovation:
It is time for a new beginning. A fresh new start. It is time for something different. It’s been a long time dream and goal of mine to do this. It’s my passion. I have no doubt that I will turn my new blog into a massive success. And along the way help as many people as I can with their own journeys.
Before I tell ya what domain I choose, I want to share some of the results of the survey. I also wanted to say thank you so much for those who took part in this survey. You have know idea how much you helped me out with this. It was a big decision and I’m glad I was able to share it with you. I really do appreciate it and I wont forget it.
Below are the final results.
As you can see by the results, 42% voted for IncomePress.com. 35% went with NothingButContent.com. The other 3 hardly got any love which was surprising because I actually wanted to go with and almost did go with PassiveIncomeChronicles.com.
I love passive income. I believe this is the best way to achieve and make money online. This is why I wanted to go with this domain. It was very keyword rich. The only problem was that it was to long of a domain. That’s why I was hesitant about it.
I also liked the word “chronicles”. With this new blog and brand, I wanted to show more of a documentive type of thing. I wanted to share my online results, what got me there, how I did it and why I did it.
The problem with that word is:
- to hard to say
- to hard to spell
- everything has to be in chronological order
- and made every domain to long
So I’m kinda glad it wasn’t popular with the survey ;-)
This leaves me with 2 choices. IncomePress and NothingButContent. These domains was like a heavy weight championship boxing match. It was back and forth all the way. I literally couldn’t decide on which one to choose here.
So I went with the good ol’ process of elimination.
Nothing but content is sort of my slogan. It’s what I’m all about. I’ve owned this domain for a while now and about a year ago, I almost started the new brand with it. It just never took off. I couldn’t pull the trigger on it.
For this reason alone, I decided to go with IncomePress.com. Not because it was the number one voted. But because there was something about nothingbutcontent that I just could not get it going. I just didn’t feel it. It wasn’t in my heart.
And if it’s one thing I’ve learned in my life, is that you must go with your heart. Follow your heart. If you can’t put 100% of you time, energy, and soul into something, then why do it.
IncomePress.com is very keyword rich, easy to say, spell, and you know what it’s about as soon as you see it.
I’ve already began to write content for it so look out for those updates soon. Killer stuff coming out ;-)
As for retiring joeyKissimme.com, here’s the results:
From the results here, there is NO WAY I could ever completely retire this blog. 72% of the people said no to retirement. How can I neglect that.
This tells me that this blog means so much to many people. There’s tons of great content here to learn from and who am I to take something as valuable as this away from the people.
I will continue to provide content for this blog. not as much as before, but related content.
Especially the Niche Site Challenge Series.
This NSC series is a long term thing. The new blog/brand is a part of this series and blog. I will continue to provide you with the progress and results of both the Passion Niche site and the Brand Niche site.
Many people have started this journey with me so it’s only fair to finish it. Together we will learn and grow our niche sites.
It will be kinda cool and interesting to see how the niches sites has grown in a year from now.
What to expect in the Income Press Blog?
I’ve got some big plans for IP. I want to make it more of an interactive blog. I want to not only teach people, but to actually get people to take action and finally begin their journey. Whether it be to start a new blog, make a video, start building a list, etc.
The income press blog will be all about anything and everything on making money online, generating a full time income online, etc. It’s going to be more diverse than the JKDC blog. At least in my opinion.
I’m going to bring over a few things from this blog, like the Super Quick Tutorials edition, which is very popular on JKDC. Not much though because I really want it to stand out.
I’m also going to start a brand new podcast show and hopefully a video show as well for it. I think it’ll be something totally different than what everyone else is doing.
You’re going to see a lot of changes with it so I hope you’re as stoked and excited about it as I am ;-)
Big Take Away:
One of the big lessons learned and big take away for me in this niche site challenge series is that, you should never be afraid of change. Change is a big part of being successful. With out change there is no growth.
I’m not completely retiring from the brand “Joey Kissimmee”, this is my brand, it’s who I am. I’m just simply heading in a new direction. Changing. Starting fresh. Innovating.
That’s pretty much it here.
I want to thank all who helped me with this decision and took part in this survey. I also want to thank all of you who are loyal to the JKDC blog and continue to make this blog what it is today.
I hope you can follow and support me in the new brand and enjoy and learn from it as much as you have from this blog.
Peace and I love ya for free ;-)
Update on NSC Series
In the next NSC post, I will go over some of the details in the backlinking strategy. There was a big curve ball thrown and I think you’ll be amazed by it ;-0
Your Thoughts:
I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on this post. What you think about change and innovation, What you think about the new brand and direction I’m taking. Good or bad, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts. Just post them down below. Thanks…

Hi Joey,
I think you did an amazing job by interacting with your audience and choosing to keep this site up and running.
I would have done the same, besides your content is really top notch and I like your no BS approach and feel.
The only way I would have ever decided to migrate the site, would be if I took the content to another site (rebranding it with a new domain name).
Just my .02 cents.
Sergio
Thanks Sergio. Really appreciate that. When I first did the change, I wasn’t really sure if I would 100% completely leave this site. plus I had no idea you could switch over the content.
I just found out I could still move the content over. But I think I’ll leave it here and active. I still have many loyal JKDC fans and I would get hosed if I were to ever completely delete it, lol.
Anyway, It’s good for people to see where and how I got started. The IncomePress.com is part of the niche site challenge so it’s good that it’s still here. People can see exactly how the IP blog got started.
I have to admit, Internet Marketer’s lives out there are way easier because of you Joey, so props to you for that! Now onto your experiment, for someone starting out in this industry, this will definitely be a good way to get their feet wet even indirectly since they’ll be able to see what you’re doing and in turn, emulate those that’ll prove to be effective and avoid those that don’t.
But then again, most established internet marketers learn from their mistakes but I know for a fact that a witty internet marketer learns from the mistakes of others.
You’re ABSOLUTELY right. We learn from those mistakes as well. That’s why I believe that it is important for me to lay them mistakes out here, cause it will help you and teach you and answer some of those “what if” questions.
I will be starting a new Challenge in the new income press blog where I will walk you through how I drive traffic and get my site popular amongst our community. Hope you and everyone else can join me in that journey. This Challenge I’ll be posting over on the income press blog.
Thanks again for your kind word. Cheers.
Joey, you are seriously one of the most honest marketers out here. It’s very noticable, I have a nose for that because I would like to teach the same way as you do. I think giving value will be rewarding, in the end.
Keep it up this way Joey, you are seriously going to reach that top! You’re tha man!
thanks a ton. That really means a lot to me ;-) I always try to give the best I can in the best way I know how.
I couldn’t have agreed more with your followers Joey, as your site’s indeed a fountain of valuable information! I really had grown fond of your experiments as it had saved valuable time and efforts of actually doing those experiments myself.
But then the idea of maintaining all of these sites at the same time is very much overwhelming, wonder how you manage to do all those at the same time. Any particular tips you can share? A blog post about it would be greatly appreciated!
This is actually the first time I’m gonna be juggling to main sites and one niche site. I have a plan in mind which I will cover in a post here soon.
But to briefly let ya know, it’s pretty much a priority type thing. When I write a post, I’ll determine where it is best suited. For example: The NSC Series, this is only for JKDC blog.
I will go over more detail on how I plan to do this in a future NSC post. Thanks again. take care.
I was sure you wouldn’t stop this blog, it ranks too good and you are loved and I am happy I was right.
I like your dominoinfo-blog. It’s pretty.
I love you all as well ;-)
Right On Joey. Out of the 300+ emails I receive everyday, Yours is one of the few that I actually read anymore. And I find it is time well spent. Great, informative and interesting content every time, without the hype and hard sell. Here’s my two cents opinion… Actually, I liked the NothingButContent.com domain better, but as you said… Go with your heart, so I’m sure you’ve made the right choice.
Keep knocking them out of the park Joey. I wish you the best of luck.
Best Wishes,
Carl Willoughby
lol, thanks brotha. Glad my emails aren’t a bother to ya ;p
Joey,
I’m glad you are not getting rid of your current blog. It’s a great resource!
On changing directions…change can be a wonderful thing. Sometimes we have to reinvent ourselves to reach new heights. Seems to me that’s what you’re doing. I love that you are chronicling the process. That in itself is very informative and helpful.
so, thanks!
Louise
thanks Louise. I also believe in change. Sometimes it can be a hard thing which is why most people don’t like it and won’t do it. At least in my opinion.
Hey Joey,
I love your old blog, and hope your new blog will be even more great!
Thanks for a good job,
Leslie Romero
thank you Leslie. I promise to do the best I can to make income press the best ever ;-)
Well personally I am glad you are keeping your blog as I do like it, not only for the content, but it nice to look at too. I figure as long as I am learning from a site that I am going to, I would hate to have that part of it disrupted right now. Apparently I am not the only one that feels this way.
As for the niche site I hope you go all the way in teaching us this process because for all of us it is important especially when we see you get your first sales. That would be a sure sign to those who doubt that they make it on line, that you can. So there is a lot to look forward to here.
I didn’t check off a domain name for your new site simply because I don’t understand why you are doing it when you already have a successful blog. I would imagine I would have picked the one that you have settled on anyway.
Keep up the good work Joey as it appears you have a lot of fans.
Paul
Thanks my man. I appreciate it a ton. I’m so bless to have peeps like you here. Hope you will enjoy the new blog as much as this one.
oh and BTW, I will continue to update you guys on the niche site challenge. this new brand is part of it. So no worries bro, I’ll keep ya updated.
peace…
I agree, keep the blog. I enjoy visiting it and getting some great tips, and inspiration
will do. I’m sure you’ll love the new one as well…
Joey, Joey, Joey, Joey, LOL
Is this some kind of trick or what. just joking. Joey you know I have been one of your most loyal people. What ever you do I’m all in with ya. You’ve done more for me just from this blog than any other so called guru out there. So count me in brother.
peace and I love you for free too! (I love this saying from you, lol)
hahaha, no my brotha, it’s no trick. I love ya to bro ;-)
Looks like from the comments on your survey that people don’t want you to go. I just found you from facebook and I personally love this blog. I’ve been coming here regularly to read.
I’m just getting caught up with the niche site challenge and I’m really getting into it. I hope you don’t stop it. If you do stop it here please continue it on your new blog.
Cheers, Krisie
I promise to keep delivering massive value and to provide you guys with the best stuff I have. Thanks a ton ;-)
I for one would love for you to just focus on one blog. Just because with joggling 2 big blogs will at one point become overwhelming. One blog is hard enough. I will follow you where ever you go, just make sure you take care of your people and don’t get overwhelmed with the work load. I do have one question. Will you be doing different content for both blogs or will it be the same? Thanks Joey. Dan
Thanks so much bro. To answer your question …I will be focusing more on providing content that is actionable. Things that you can take and make it work now.
I also want to give more info on how I’m making my money. This way you guys can see how its done. As I said in the post, I will be bringing some of the things to the new blog, like the SQT editions.
Anyway I really do appreciate your support and loyalty. Thanks a ton.
Joey I can’t wait until your new blog is live. I’m sure it’ll be as valuable as this blog is. Thanks for all you do :)
it made no sense to me for you to retire from this blog. I’m happy you are staying but still confused why to start a new one if it’s the same stuff.
Kevin
Sorry if it’s confusing. The way I see it is that if you stay in your comfort zone, you’ll never know your true potential.
I have no doubt my new brand will succeed. It will be better and more successful than JKDC.
Thanks anyway.
awesome stuff Joey. I’m so glad you aren’t retiring this blog. I learn so much from here. Hope the new one is just as good.
Joey,
Great read of a blog post – didn’t know when it was going to end, but you put your heart and soul on your sleeve and its hard to ignore that passion. Am stoked to know you’re not altogether retiring JoeyKissimmee.com as that is where we first met, and has some excellent posts to learn from. It’ll be fun to see your vision unfold and see the new direction with IncomePress.com.
Chat soon my friend,
Kieran
Thanks Kieran. I’m totally stoked about it too. Can’t wait till it’s live ;-)

Great Joey…..Keeping the original blog! all success with the new one!
I voted for IncomePress.com as i felt, as you say, it’s more ‘keyword rich’ than the others.
All success with yours & our journey with the new one!
Good luck & ‘ I love ya for free too! :)
